There's plenty of resort like that, if you read what's written in that link, that's minor street crimes such as purse snatching, street vendors and pickpockets that every major city in the world has. All I was saying is that major violence such as gun violence, robbery at gun point and stuff like that don't exist. I'm sure if you can survive driving in the streets

, Dakar is much safer than MOST major American cities. Common sens will get you out of most situations anywhere in the world, I personally don't think tourist/local should walk alone in any streets at night, that's just inviting trouble. Try walking 2 blocks from the White House here in DC at 14th/Euclide it's prolly as dangerous as Bagdad



. A few members here have been there more than once, talk to them, that's probably more helpful than reading that crap on govermental website and that goes for most developing countries.
