I don't like having to control the Sub level from the receiver, it can be too complicated for a fast adjustment. And since my sub is buried behind my wall unit, it's next to impossible to adjust manually.

I find more than any other speaker, the sub is the one that needs to be adjusted depending on the source. DVD vs. Music. Michael Bay film vs. Wes Anderson, etc. You get my point.
