kind of off topic, but a relative of mine was driving her 1991 Ford Explorer down a New Mexico highway (rural), when she rounded a corner and was faced with a sedan parked half-on half-off the road, and they weren't smart enough to put their hazards on. In order to avoid hitting the car, she cranked the wheel hard, and rolled three times. The Explorer was totaled, but she was fine. The next car she bought was a Volvo station wagon.
And that's why safety is my absolute #1 priority.
Granted, an X5 with stability control won't roll like that, but there are always accidents that are unavoidable, especially red light runners that t-bone crossing cars, and that's why the 5-Series's rating is so dissapointing.
