I'm leaning towards hard drive failure as well. How old is your PC? What is a "noice"? I will assume that you have still not backed up your pictures. Since those are probably your biggest assets on that computer, you may want to consider removing your hard drive, and take it to a computer shop to diagnose the hard drive and retrieve/copy all of your pictures prior to a potential failure (I can walk you through how to remove it). If they determine that it is a hard drive issue, you can pick up a new hard drive, they are pretty inexpensive, and then have the same computer shop transfer over everything from the old drive if possible.
