Before going all out on the cleaning, you might want to try an aerosol spray cleaner, thus minimizing the opportunity to break things. The Bavarian Autosport newsletter (http://www.bavauto.com/newsletter/20...ter.pdf#page=1)
has an rticle which may help. You just take off the MAF and spray this stuff in.
Maybe you should start with this and move on to more intensive cleaning if it doesn't work. Let us know.
