Jan,
Thanks for the info. Reading that made me to decide to go with 18s for sure.
The reason being this is my wifes car and she does not look out for potholes. So its probably a nightmare waiting to happen.
I am definately going with runflats because i want to make sure my wife doesnt get stranded somewhere. If it was for myself I would probably go without the runflats.
I didnt know about the bridgestone problem where you can get contis for free.
So when choosing a tire what should i go with. the only tire i saw on tire rack was the bridgestone RFTs. And they are on backorder. What else can i buy and where can i get them.
Im looking for 225-40-18 and 255-35-18
Im going with the 18X8 and 18X9 ET38 / M5 replica wheels
They weight 25 and 26 pounds which i think is pretty light.
What do you guys think?
By the way Jan how does the 330 XI handle in the snow. I dont have the sport pkg so my car came with 17in all seasons. Do you think those will be good enough or should i go with 17 snow tires?
Im curious to see if the 335 XI is better in the snow than my X5

If you go with 19" be aware that you won't have much rubber on your rims,
the sidewalls are going to be very thin !
On NE roads this can be a challenge, I already bent two wheels (no visible
damage just annoying vibration, ended up buying two new wheels) and
that's without even hitting a pothole hard. I have the Hartge Classic 2 which
so far have held up pretty well.
I'd only recommend 19" for someone who's willing to avoid potholes/dips
at all costs as otherwise it will be an expensive exercise ...
On my winter wheels (OEM Sportwheels (162) powder coated black)
I have 18" RFT winter tires (Dunlop) and I've been pretty happy so far,
also been driving the Bridgestone RFT the first 2000 miles without any
major complainst (however there's a customer complaint notice where
you can get your Bridgestone RFT replaced with Conti RFTs (but you
have to complain about roadnoise first ....)) .
