FerrariGuy,
-Clutch life: very little info/history recorded as the 5 spds were so rare.
One poster had a "squeak" in pedal on engagement, (which I also have on occasion),
and he had some seriousazz clutch work done under warr., but that was a long time ago,
from memory. I would think that if the X's clutch wasn't beat on, it should go 100k, but
that's a guess.
-I'm still on orig CV boots and they look "ok" when I slide under for viewing; a look on a
lift may tell me more, when I get an Indie oil change and "insp" soon,
(to keep Warr. Direct off my fanny that I didn't "do" Insp. II).
I did have the water pump R&R'd at about 48k miles under the orig warr. You might have
an Indie check/R&R the water pump, belt check and careful inspection of coolant hoses
and coolant res. jug: they are all suspect and cheap azz oem parts; thus the weak links.
No window reg problems nor the litany of other failings...lucky so far.
-If you drive it so infrequently, I'd rec'd a Battery Tender hooked up to the terminals under
the hood, to keep the batt. breathing.
-I hear you on your Miata, but we/most of us are addicted to the X and/or BMWs and
understand they bring their own quirks, lol!
This is a great board for opins, rec'ds and info...let's see some pics of your stable; we have
some lucky Ferrari owners here, too and a wide assortment of fineazz rides.
