Yeah, I get compliments on my pens just about EVERY day. I write for a living, so it actually plays into my "persona," BUT that is not the reason started using fountain pens. Back in the very early 90s I did an apprenticeship with Daimler Benz -- IN Germany. There, students were allowed to use either pencil or fountain pen; they believe fountain pens promote good penmanship. (It did not help me, by the way.
) Anyway, I have been using fountain pens ever since, and Mont Blancs exclusively for the last four or five years.
