of 42,000 X5s and X3s combined, in the US. They must have sold
boatloads outside the US and then really hauled azz in September,
both US and export.

Amazing to me is that I have not seen a new X5 on the road yet, this
year. I must not get out much, lol!

22,025 X5s sold in the US through Aug. this year, of which 21,552 are E70 (out of 100,000). Doesn't surpirse me, did you think the US was getting more than a 20-25% share of all X5s?
SUVs are very popular worldwide, and in Europe (for example) there is no concurrence from American or Japanese (for the most part, as we don't get Acuras or Infinitis here) SUVs, so the vast majority of (all?) SUVs sold in the X5's category here are German. BMW is selling many X5s throughout the world.
