No! iDrive is not the same.
These are the versions for the old GPS systems MKI, MKII, MKIII and MKIV (MK1 to 4), present on old BMW's up to 3-series E46 and X3 and the older X5.
The iDrive systems, which are microsoft windows based, are not upgradeable by the user. You need to go to BMW to "reinstall your system" and/or run the "system updates".
