does anyone know what the maximum supported length is available when swapping out the stock 3.0si tips?

there are many universal fit chrome tips available but some are 9inches total length and some upto 12inches long!!

also, what is the inlet size needed? 2.25, 2.5, 3.0inch??

I want to order a dual exhaust tip for the 3.0 (one inlet, two outlet) but I'm concerned about it sticking way out...
