Anyway, Aidan, we have the X5 and E46 M3. The M is WAY more fun but is tough/tiring as a daily driver when dealing with stop/go traffic and crater road surfaces Boston. Could be tough living with the X in Dublin traffic but would be a blast outside the city (the X will never be that much fun).
However, the X is fast enough and comfortable enough as a daily driver for 'she who must be obeyed' - big factor to consider
Two entirely different but fun cars in their own way but you are comparing apples and oranges.
I say trade in the Audi and get an M and an X.

With respect to "usable power" - that is completely subjective, I have owned the M and driven the other. A M3 in Boston is a waste, IMO -
Actually, the roads in general out here are why I just sold mine and purchased the X5
