not sure what the availability is like for the OEM runflats for an e70, but for my e92, there was a national backorder in the spring/summer. most people i knew couldn't wait the 2+ months to get a new OEM tire covered by the protection program, so they went non run-flat since it was readily available (and out of their own pocket). obviously, not many thought buying the tire protection was a good idea.
