Bluetooth question, need answer by 7am EST Friday
I put a post in the Bluetooth forum today, sorry to cross post, but I'm out of time.
My 3-1-04 build X5 has Nav and Assist, I'm retrofitting for Bluetooth and Assist per SIB 841304, the X is going in to the dealer in the morning to have the car coded to accept the TCU. Even the dealer whose doing the coding tomorrow couldnt tell me if i need a seperate BT antenna or not, they've never done this conversion
Can someone let me know if I need to add a seperate Bluetooth antenna in addition to the the new -114 TCU???? I see the spot where the seperate BT would bolt in. From reading previous posts, it appears that with the new Motorola -114 TCU a seperate BT antenna isn't needed, am I right or wrong?
The paste below this line from the SIB, indicates that the TCU supports Bluetooth. Is this support by itself (TCU has built in BT antenna) or does this means support with an additional external BT antenna.
"Per the SIB-------For E46/E83/E85/E53 vehicles produced between 3/2004 and 8/2004, are equipped with a TCU that does not support Bluetooth®. On these
vehicles the TCU can be replaced at the customer's expense with a 2005 MY TCU. Cradles may not be added to these vehicles because of wiring incompatibility."
If anyone knows, please answer......I hate to miss the appointment or blow the bucks if they waste their time.
Thanks.......
