I just ask because I've seen "fake" products before that were just as good as the originals and the only "fake" thing was the brand logo. In that case I'd take the fake one and save some cash.

You're kidding right, what about the patents and copyrights? You're in the 'music business' if I remember, how would you like people freely copying your crap then selling it on a street corner as the original..... 
Why can't replica rim companies just say they are making OEM BMW rims...they are good quality.....
