That's a misconception. Most of the turbo motors now are built pretty damn strong. Subaru and Evo motors along with audi 1.8t and 2.7T blocks are bulletproof. Tune it correctly, get enough spark and fuel and you are completely fine. It's those who slap kits together and don't a/f that will blow stuff up. The 335i motors are good for up to 600-700hp easily. It's the tranny and drive train that you have to worry about. I did a blackstone report both after V1 and V2 and check my plugs and my motor is burning very clean and burns no oil. I would say even at 500hp at the crank, this motor is not stressed as show by the blackstone report.
