We're facing a $1.4 billion deficit in '08, so rather than cut spending our wonderful Governor Granholm
insisted on adding "services" (ie handouts) and shut down the government until she got her way.
We're looking at a whole bucket full of new taxes (increased sales tax, new services taxes, doubling all of our vehicle/license fees, the list goes on).
At a time when jobs (and people) are leaving the state in droves (making the housing market terrible since there are more homes than families), we want to spend more--that's tax and spend government at its finest.
