That's true. You still need to plug an audio cable in to get sound, though. The ipod connector just controls the navigation of songs, it doesn't provide sound. The nice thing about the BMW cable is that you get both connections in a single cable. If I was in the UK, I certainly wouldn't pay a premium for that privilege, but since it is free in the US, I will take it!
