While the A/C is "on" it doesn't necessarily blow cold air (i.e., when it is cold out, like it is getting to be here in NYC), it is just on and ready to blow cold air, if needed, to regulate the temp in the car to the auto temp setting....

folks, don't be confused... "A/C" is not meant just to provide cold air.... it's an air compressor... and can/should be used to help remove moisture from inside the vehicle and particularly helpful when it's raining outside and preventing fogging from occuring on the windshield. it can be on WITH hot air... and many times should be. too many people think it's just related to 'cold' air... and that is not true.
