also, if you have comfort access can't you just touch the door handle to unlock them even with the keyfob inside???
comfort access looks for the keyfob signal...whether inside or near the vehicle...then activates the door release, ignition start, etc...
good idea to test them first just in case...

My experience has been that CA does recognize whether you're in or out of the car. Out of pure curiousity, I opened the pass door, press the lock button, throw in the remote, then close door. The car beeped once and stayed like that... needless to say, I was locked out...
And I tried, CA does not allow the door unlocking when the key is inside.
Then as I was retrieving my other remote, I remembered that I gave it to my cousin for safety last time...
Called BMW Assist, and went through the security questions, and held the trunk release for 10 seconds... didn't pop, so the lady said that it should happen within the next hour... 2 minutes later it "beep beep" and unlocked driver door... end of story...
