I just test drove a 2008 3.0si this past weekend and i did not notice a problem with the acceleration. When i put it into Sport, I felt it accelerated even better. However, I did not test drive the 4.8i so I can't compare. The one you test drove was a 2008, right?

On a side note, my salesman actually was trying to convince me to get the 3.0si and NOT the 4.8i. He said he felt it was not worth the premium and that the 3.0si had enough power.
