As I said before, a better idea would be for the government to save the banks, and in the process take them over, i.e. nationalization. Then everyone keeps their jobs except for management who deserves to lose them anyway due to mismanagement.

I have a hell of a time agreeing that my tax money should go to make sure the CEO gets his $100 million salary next year. Any help the government gives should have conditions, and condition #1 should be that none of these high paid execs get paid anything more than a normal salary.
