I'm not arguing the point of who is to blame. Maybe local, maybe state, maybe federal. I'm sure all 3 had their short comings. For example (from the link above):

I understand that we all deal with red tape, but it's just silly IMO to have first responders staged around the hurricane zone and not send them in when they were obviously needed. Why should it be a requirement in the middle of a disaster situation to dot all the "i's" and cross all the "t's"?
All I'm saying is that it's not just a "liberal agenda." Democrats goal is to be in power. They get there by convincing voters that they are right. Republicans have the same goal. Finger pointing is coming from both parties (which as you said is absolutely out of control).
