Personnally, I don't pay out of state tickets.
I live in in MD as well and probably have about 50 tickets, yes 50 bet DC and Va and never paid one single ticket.
I check my credit every 6 months and as far as I know, none of them showed up on my credit. My license been suspended a few times in Va but for some reasons, even when i get pulled over, it's not showing . Only god knows why. Now i'm not saying don't pay the ticket, but this has worked for me for 8 years and i'm not about to change it.
Just sharing my experience. Do what gives you peace of mind.
