A 335xi coupe is everything that an X6 should be, in a 3 series. Hence my suggestion that if it was built on a 5 series platform (ie 6 series) and was a two-door coupe, not so heavy, and not confused by its SUV heritage, it could stand on its own. As it is it just seems to be in search of an identity.

My point was that people will go for the impractical as long as it looks better and is more rare, which IMOI is the ONLY reason the 3 coupe sells so well.
Mind you, I own a 335 convertible myself, I love the car and I would never even think of buying a sedan, but it's that same mentality that interests me in the X6--mainly the fact that it simply looks better than the hunky X5 which has lost much of the E53's sportiness, can't argue with that.
