There's usually a blind spot - it just depends on your seating position where exactly it is. You can get an addon mini-mirror or you can get a wider rear mirror that gives you an excellent view on both sides. Of course if you have the premium package with the compass, then you've negated that feature... too bad cause I have gotten used to wide rear-view mirrors - they come in very handy. Anyway, you should always do a quick glance just before regardless.
