So you have to decide whether you are going to believe the dealer, who is in business to sell more cars and has never designed or built anything, or BMW, who designed and built the engine.
Most of us on here tend to respect the machinery during early hours, take it somewhat easy, and give the parts time to bed in. You are not going to blow up the engine by not following the break-in instructions, but you are also not as likely to get as much out of the vehicle. Break-in is about respecting the machinery.
