I don't see why that is so bad. It's not as if something was kept from them that affected their lives in a negative way. Usually when a child is adopted, there is not that much information given anyway.
And such experiments or studies are not done for the government. I doubt the government benefits from the results of such a study any more than anyone else does. But as you know, I'm always one to be suspect of the government. So if you can show me an angle where the government benefited from this study, I'm all ears.
