Steved is on a distinguished road
I have been going through my usual debate about keeping/changing my choice of colour, and have twice decided to change from VR and twice changed my mind once I've gone and looked at the colour sample (aaaarrrgghhhhh!!).

VR really is a stunning colour in the metal, but I've never been comfortable with metallic red - they've either been washed out/pinkish/brownish. I spoke to a paint technician for one of my previous bespoke cars and he explained how difficult it was to make a good metallic red (I can't remember why it was so difficult). It seems that one of the paint manufacturers (PPG, ICI,?) have cracked it and I've now seen strong confident metallic reds on the new Aston DBS, Alfa 8C and of course Ferrari's F1 race car.

But because there are no other past examples of good metallic reds, I keep getting cold feet. Vermilion is a 'completely' new BMW colour, so I can't find any examples on any previous cars.

Until I next have a crisis of confidence I have re-confirmed Vermilion. My order does not go firm for another few weeks, so I've got time but nothing else in the X6 paint offerings looks as interesting.

Tasman is the 'next' most interesting colour. It looks like a mid-way balance between green and grey, but is not dark. It's a mid-shade colour, so reflects light quite well but still provides that stealthy dark look. I am sure quite a few people will choose this colour and be quite happy with it. In some respects it's like a darker version of Stratus Grey, but not quite as multi-colour as that.
