My point was that you may have seen a warning flash across a TV screen, but you didn't necessarily agree with the terms it stated. With the CD, when you purchased it it was clearly labelled, and you accepted those terms the first time you played it. In that sense, I don't think the two are alike at all.
In the sense that the music or football recounting police would have to come into your home and find you breaking the law, then yes, I see your point. I just think it is an extreme example, and avoids the real issue of copyright law.
