Help! I have "hopefully" a simple wiring problem/question with my subwoofers.

I have a 2002 X5, in the trunk is a hifonics Brutus 1200w amp powering two JL 10w6v2 subwoofers.

The amp blew up and I went to replace it, in a moment of stupid I did not note the speaker cables before I disconnected them from the old amp.

I believe my installer had them at a 1ohm final load because I had the + on input 1 and - on input 2 in use.

My problem is that I don't know which is + and which is - from the subs, the crappy speaker cable isn't labeled. Without tearing the subwoofers out of the enclosure is there an easy to way tell which end is + and which end is -? I don't want to hook them up out of phase because I assume bad things will happen when they are wired up for a 1ohm load.
