With respect to gas mileage, it is directly proportional to speed. This holiday season I drove to Cleveland (from Boston) roughly 600 miles each way and at 80 to 85 mph I would see about 16.5mpg, however in Ohio where the limit is 60 in places (and enforced) rolling along at 65 to 68mph my mpg would run up into the 19 range. This was something I paid very close attention to see what I really could get out of this vehicle.

On some of the parkways where the limit is 45, driving along in M6 the actual value would run into the 25 to 28mpg range.

Also, I found that weight had very little (if any) impact on the overall mpg during freeway driving; my trip out and trip back were nearly identical (over 500 + miles), despite my ride back including about 300 pounds of extra weight. I would expect to see a difference from the additional weight in stop-and-go however.

Driving at 85 with the motor revving as high as it was made me wish for a 7th gear!

Cheers,
KEF
