Steved is on a distinguished road
I am still flipping between different colours on the X6. I took another view at Vermilion Red (at another dealer) and after much scrutiny (and taking the colour sample outside into daylight), I would describe Vermilion as almost exactly the red equivalent of Le Mans Blue.

I placed it against a LMB X5 and they reflected/absorbed similar amounts of light and were equally as vibrant. The question that keeps nagging in my mind is whether I would feel comfortable living with such a strong and characterful (red) colour on the X6.

To confuse me further, I saw a nicely prepped 635d in Deep Sea Blue, which looked thoroughly decent, and after taking the colour sample outside I discovered that it was nigh on identical to my Mugello Blue RS4 Avant. So if its good enough on the RS4, then I know I would also like it on the X6.

What I also discovered was that Deep Sea Blue is more interesting than I initially thought. Whereas Le Mans Blue is basically a rich blue basecoat with a dense layer of silver metallic flakes, Deep Sea Blue is a slightly darker blue base coat but this time with emerald green metallic flakes. So it looks blue/green from some angles, and looked excellent on the 6-series in the showroom.

To save everyone the trouble of finding some example pictures I will post a few examples of Deep Sea Blue below;
