Best bet is to get the VIN and ask your dealer to run a service history check on it. Everytime that vehicle has been brought in for service, the computer will record it along with what was done. Yeah, maybe my dealer is just a PITA, but I tried this very thing before I bought my E46 M3 which had CPO warantee. They told me they would not run the VIN unless I was the owner of the vehicle.
