I think you put your thoughts in your post well. However, there's a simple solution: add SJ to your ignore list.

but otherwise it's Quick Links -> Edit Profile -> Buddy/Ignore Lists

I have added a couple of members to mine mostly because of all the off-topic junk they post. It's not of interest to me and a lot of the time the "offenders" use a non-descriptive or, worse, deceptive title for their posts. I wish the forum software was more flexible and could just not show threads started by those members because sometimes they have interesting posts in other discussions.

Also, I turn off the signatures since I think they just waste bandwidth
