EOD Guy is on a distinguished road
I looked at the parrot before I purchased the motorola IHF1000. I could only find a few satisfied customers etc..... I have the IHF 1000 in My Z3 and my hoopty, the Motorola was a breeze to hook up in the X5.

I removed the glove box, removed the 4 trox screws holding the fuse box in, on the back side was an unused relay socket that had +12v, a Ground and a switched +12v. I crimped some spade terminals on the wires from the IHF1000 and plugged them in. I tucked the control box and the speaker in the plastic mounts I discovered behind the fuse box. I removed the interior light by prying gently on the rear edge and then removed the 4 screws holding the garage door module/headliner. I popped out the stock microphone cover and RTV'ed the IHF1000 microphone to the back side, and reinstalled the mic cover in the headliner. I used the double sided tape to attach the Motorola control box to the blanking cover beside the microphone cover (I had to notch out about 1/8” so the cord would feed into the interior) I ran the wires for it and the microphone along the front of the windshield tucking them in. I removed the A pillar cover and ran the wires down and beside the dash. There’s not enough cord to reach the control box easily so make the connections to the control box at this point. Gently pull the wires back up towards the windshield until you can tape it to the A pillar. Reinstall the A pillar cover. I extended the IHF1000 yellow wire (radio mute) along the pass side under the door sills into the cargo area all the way to the rear hatch, across the rear to the drivers side where I tapped into the Wht/Brn wire at connection X400. X400 is a white connector and is attached to the lower front side of the bracket where the OEM Bluetooth mounts.

Fired up the juice and everything worked..... so back went the fuse box and glove box. It works very well!
