I hate the Ipod ear buds because after 1/2 hr. they hurt my ears. Too much pressure against the cartilage to keep them in.

So I got the Sony, noise reduction. I say they are very good as they have different size buds that you can put on them so they comfortably fit your ear. But in the same breath, the adjustable buds can easily get lost rendering the headphones useless until you buy replacement plastic.

So, I have to carry two sets with me when I travel. The Sony set which is comfortable and does a decent job of noise cancellation. And I carry my Ipod buds in case I lose the small plastic fitting for the Sony's.
