Do you pay fat people to stop eating McDonalds? Do you pay parents to be good to their kids? These kids are going to be rewarded in the longrun for going to school and getting good grades why do tax payers have to pay them right now also?

In Atlanta they are paying kids to go to after hours tutoring. With no tests to show improvement many of these kids will simply show up and punch a clock without learning anything just to get paid. That is crazy.
I understand your frustration, but if you don't do something about these kids now, then you will end up instead paying even more taxes to support these kids when they end up in prison, when they have kids as teenagers (welfare), and to hire extra police because there is so much crime.

I'd rather pay some kids to go to school and have them end up being productive in their lives, than pay for them to be in prison as adults. Like I said above, I don't know if this will work, but something needs to be done beyond preaching "personal responsibility" -- politicians have been doing that for years, and it does not appear to be producing results.
