Sports mode seems to really increase revs... Cruising at 60km/h in sports typically results in about 2000-2100rpm, whereas outside of sports it's typically 1500-1600rpm at most. I somehow feel that outside of steady highway driving, this is likely affecting our MPG to some noticeable extent (especially in closed street driving). Call me anal, but for the average benefits of sports mode (faster takeoff from lights, for instance) I just don't think it's worth the tradeoff (all those extra revs have got to be burning up fuel, not to mention 'unnecessarily' stressing the engine for no reason).
I'll take longetivity and MPG, so no sports mode here.
