Technically, how the NAV system works is by referencing the GPS coordinates (from the GPS SAT) with the flat map data (from the DVD NAV disc).

The data on the DVD disc are made usually either by NAVTEQ or TELEATLAS, and you cannot interchange the DVD made by NAVTEQ to be used on system made for TELEATLAS disc.

So assuming BMW uses NAVTEQ and then NAVTEQ through BMW releases the Argentine (or South America) DVD disc then yes you should be able to use it.

You cannot even use a NAVTEQ disc made for Mercedes on BMW even if BMW uses NAVTEQ as the Nav disc supplier since almost every car manufacturer uses their own customization on how to use the Nav disc data.

So even if you can find a NAV data for Argentine on a disc but not made to be used for BMW, most probably you cannot use it in the BMW Nav system
