Yester year? I know it is about 7 years old but there is something very different between an M car and it's more daily driverish newer generation sibling. On the track, an e30 M3 owns an e36 325i, an e36 M3 owns an e46 330i, and the e46 M3 still dominates an e92 335i. Lack of a limited-slip diff and all the issues with overheating on the 335i, just go to show that the e92 was not made for the track the same way an M car is. It would require significant upgrades on an e92 to outpace a stock e46 M3 on a track (suspension, brakes, oil cooler, limited slip diff, etc).
