Yes but even the coupe can handle 3 normal people on the back seats, in contrast with X6 which is only 2.

Or to put that another way the X6's rear headroom is 0.8" less than a 5-series sedan, 0.25" less than a 3-series sedan and 0.5" more than a 3-series coupe.
That doesn't sound like its 'seriously compromised' to me, unless you need to shuttle around a coupe of NBA players on a regular basis...
