I am not familiar with the 3.0 engine but quickly looking at it on realoem it seems lik eit might be much easier to access these hoses as one of them seems to connect just beneath the oil cap. That being the case it also seems that these hoses on the 3.0 are not under the smae amount of stress as they are on the 4.4i, simply due to their placement. But I am not sure about any of this just my assumptions from viewing the diagrams on realoem.com for the 3.0. Someone with a 3.0 will be better suited to help you out. Sorry I couldn't help more.
