You are thinking of GB; you don't have to float anywhere to get to a part of Ireland that is in the UK. I wondered if anyone was going to pick up on it, but since I heard constantly during three years of living in the UK that I was from America, I figured I would just let it slide. 
So, for the OP, let's just say that he is from Europe.
