Highly unlikely.
Iran's current president was elected.
U.S. foreign policy created the current situation. Instead of promoting true democracy in the region, they helped install a dictator in Iran, which then produced a people's revolution leading to present day Iran.
This will inevitably happen everywhere in that region because the U.S. continues to support the kings and dictators of the Middle East (Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Libya, Kuwait, etc.)
