thanks Dave...that's what I was thinking, but don't know why they would have replaced it. I was having a leak coming from the sunroof controls, so they replaced the casing around the sunroof. unless the module is there, which I don't think it is, they shouldn't have replaced it. it still reads the BT as bmw173** (can't remember the last 2 numbers) so I would think it's the same module, unless all modules have the same number.
