They are getting ready for the new model by clearing out their inventory? Doing so might take a while considering the pricerange, so that might explain these early incentives? If I remember right there were some pretty good deals for a while on the X5 (E53) when they were getting ready for the new one (E70).
Been hoping for a 7 to replace the wife's X5 (in 2009) - hopefully she decides she can live without AWD and the raised seating position
