Any car will look slightly outdated when sitting side by side with a new model. The test will be what your opinion is when you see those 2 cars sitting next to each other 20 years from now. IMO, the e46 int/ext styling is timeless and it still looks great sitting next to the new e92. Many people feel that the e39 was the best 5 design, the e38 was the best 7 design, and the e46 was the best 3 design of all time. All of those cars looked strikingly familiar only in different sizes. .
