Do you guys have any knowledge whether driving an E53 in regular "D" most of the time will increase the lifetime of the vehicle vs. driving in DS?

I usually drive in D, thinking it will be easier on the engine over the long haul, since I plan to keep my X for quite some time. But I don't know if there's any validity in that.
