Depends what the chip does. What does Dinan say? If they are pushing the ignition timing, or changing the fuel mixture, you will likely see a performance degradation on 89. If they aren't changing timing (or fuel delivery) then I am not sure what they are selling, other than points towards a Dinan badge.
